Finance Manager Maternity Cover
Cera Stribley is seeking a qualified Finance Manager to cover a 12-month parental leave period.
This role is responsible for maintaining financial oversight of the business, producing accurate and timely management reporting, monitoring cash flow, and supporting the board with financial analysis. Strategic direction remains with the managing principals and board; this role provides the financial information and analysis that underpins decision-making.
The position suits a technically strong and commercially aware accountant who is comfortable operating independently within an established structure.
Key responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee accuracy of financial records maintained by bookkeeper.
Review and finalise monthly management accounts.
Prepare monthly board reporting packs along with variance explanations.
Monitor WIP, revenue recognition, and project profitability.
Support annual budgeting and reforecasting process.
Manage year-end process in conjunction with external accountants.
2. Cash Flow & Working Capital Oversight
Maintain rolling weekly cash flow forecast.
Monitor debtor ageing and collection performance.
Review creditor cycles and payment timing.
Provide clear reporting on cash risk and liquidity position.
3. Financial Analysis & Decision Support
Prepare financial modelling and analysis to support board decisions.
Provide financial insights to support project leaders.
Respond to ad hoc financial queries from principals and stream leads.
4. Compliance & Controls
Liaise with external BAS and tax accountants
Ensure BAS, payroll tax, superannuation and statutory obligations are met.
Review internal financial controls.
Maintain integrity of financial systems and reporting frameworks.
Candidate Profile
Essential
CA or CPA qualified
5–10+ years accounting experience
Strong management reporting capability
Experience preparing board-level reporting
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
Strong cash flow forecasting experience
Ability to operate independently and proactively
Highly Desirable
Experience in professional services
Exposure to project-based revenue models
Understanding of WIP accounting
Experience in growth-oriented businesses
Experience with all ATO filings
