Originally built in the 1950s, this family home has been thoughtfully renovated and extended to celebrate its art deco heritage while introducing a renewed sense of openness, warmth and contemporary liveability.

Designed as a contemporary family retreat, the project balances nostalgic character with refined modern interventions. Original architectural details were retained and celebrated, while new additions establish a stronger connection between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape. Generous glazing, layered materiality and softened transitions create a home that feels both grounded and light-filled.

A considered palette of tactile finishes, natural textures and subtle tonal contrasts brings depth and personality throughout the interiors. Spaces are designed to feel calm, functional and enduring, responding intuitively to the rhythms of family life while maintaining a strong architectural identity.

Landscape was integral to the project vision, with whimsical gardens woven throughout the experience of the home to blur the boundary between indoors and out. Together, architecture and landscape create a home that feels immersive, restorative and deeply connected to its setting.

Beryl is a careful balance of preservation and progression, a home that respects its past while confidently embracing contemporary living.
