Presenting 10 luxury residences, designed over three levels, The Bradford Apartments seamlessly integrate into the surrounding streetscape, cleverly divided into four smaller entities, each with their own identity to imbue a sense of privacy and individuality.

The striking signature brick exterior is a nod to the local heritage and neighbouring period dwellings, acknowledging the surrounding context while reinterpreting the past with a restrained and contemporary architectural vision.

The site is located at the top of Cotham Road, an area characterised by the presence of both heritage single houses and multi-residential developments. To respond to this context, the design looks to balance this fine heritage grain with a restrained contemporary architectural ambition.

With the ambition of reducing the visual mass of the project, and for a better integration to this context, the volume is fractured into smaller entities. While being part of the same development, each entity is expressed differently by the use of subtle nuance in its façade expression, colour and texture.

The materials used for the project, brick and timber, are set to give to the project this delicate and intimate aspect, that brings it closer to the architecture of the single houses.

Playing in contrast with the minerality of the built form, the significant street-front, garden and terrace landscaping allows the site to provide a green addition to the area.
