Big Ideas & Bold Creations: 2024 in a Nutshell

Reflecting on 2024, it’s hard not to be filled with a sense of pride and gratitude.

When you’re in the thick of things—going day by day; project to project—it can be all too easy to lose track of what’s really being accomplished. But as we take a step back and look at the year in its entirety, the scale of what has been accomplished becomes clear.

This year, we celebrated the completion of nine incredible projects: four bespoke houses, two landmark multi-residential developments—Boxshall and Victoria Hill—an innovative office fit-out, a postpartum hotel designed to support new mothers, and an illustrious wellness centre in Melbourne’s south east. Each of these projects has been a labour of love, embodying our commitment to design excellence and innovation.

Our Design team has been busier than ever, securing over 25 permits for a diverse range of projects across Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. These include an adaptive-reuse project in Brisbane, a significant multi-residential development in Moonee Valley, a new commercial building adjacent to our Melbourne HQ, a collection of waterfront serviced apartments in Byron Bay, and six stunning private residences. Some of these permits, such as Burke Road and Glyndon, marked the culmination of years-long journeys through the planning system, making these approvals all the more rewarding. Alongside these milestones, we’ve launched five major multi-residential developments to market and broken ground on six others.

In Brisbane, we’ve made significant strides, securing two noteworthy multi-residential projects along the north-east coastline. This success has driven a 30 percent expansion of our Sunshine State team, with further growth anticipated in 2025.

This year also brought recognition for our work, with numerous awards nominations and shortlist features. Deco House, Winning Appliances Redfern, and our own Melbourne HQ earned places on prestigious shortlists, including the INDE.Awards, IDEA, and Eat Drink Design Awards. Our prominence in the Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) shortlist culminated in a nomination for Designer of the Year. On the architecture and urban design front, our co-founder and managing principal, Dom Cerantonio, was honoured with a win in The Urban Developer’s inaugural Urban Leader Awards, Architecture & Design category.

Beyond project work, 2024 was a year of meaningful initiatives and milestones. We joined our friends at Miele for Milan Design Week, raised over $42,000 for three grassroots charities, began our journey toward ISO accreditation, and took the first steps in developing our Reconciliation Action Plan. These efforts reflect our commitment to creating impact beyond the built environment.

On a personal level, we’ve celebrated ten internal promotions, two new registrations, four engagements, and countless birthdays. We welcomed 23 new team members and celebrated the arrival of three little ones into the extended Cera Stribley family. The personal and professional growth within our team has been nothing short of inspiring.

It’s safe to say that 2024 has been an extraordinary year. With several high-profile projects—including Porter Street, The Trentham, and Tapestry House—set for completion in 2025, we’re filled with excitement for what’s to come.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to all our clients, collaborators, and supporters. Your trust and partnership have been instrumental to our success. Here’s to continued collaboration and even greater achievements in the years ahead.

2025, we’re ready for you!
